Prime Minister Imran Khan said Monday that women’s financial inclusion is important to end poverty faster and ultimately contribute to the country’s economic development.
When launching the Ehsaas Savings Wallet (ESW) initiative, the prime minister said no country could make progress without strengthening its weaker segment.
ESW, an integral part of Ehsaas’ financial inclusion strategy, was launched by Prime Minister Imran Khan in the presence of Queen Maxima of the Netherlands during her visit to Pakistan in November 2019.

The prime minister said the Ehsaas Saving Wallets was in line with the globally proven fact that including women in the financial system could help them run independent businesses and save money to weather the economic crisis.
He said the World Bank acknowledged that the Ehsaas program was the fourth effective program to provide a safety net for the poor and deserving of acceptance during the coronavirus pandemic.
