PM Imran Khan instructed the economic team to reduce taxes on imported edible items.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed the relevant authorities to pay special attention to reducing citizens’ indirect tax burden.
At a meeting of his economic team in Islamabad on Monday, he found that indirect taxes impose the most significant burden on society’s poorest sections.
Therefore, the Prime minister instructed the economic team to provide suggestions to reduce taxes on imported edible items. So that government could provide relief to the people, especially for the low income and middle class.
Imran Khan said that protecting the common man’s interests is the government’s top priority. He said that the poor had been affected due to the difficult economic situation, so providing them with all possible relief is our priority.
The meeting discussed several proposals to provide subsidies for disadvantaged segments of society under the Ehsaas program.
