Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday praised the efforts of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to achieving a “record” tax collection of Rs 4,000 billion in any year for the first time.
He tweeted to praise the FBR, the prime minister reported that tax revenue reached Rs 4.143 billion over 11 months.
The prime minister said that, although the count continues, the collection is eighteen percent higher than in the same period last year. He said that this reflects a broad economic revival driven by government policies.
Previously, the Federal Revenue Service (FBR) had released an explanation of the news circulating about the customs tax charged on the cell phone.
According to the FBR, foreign travelers can register five cell phones in their passports.
But now the FBR says that the V-book module has changed, only a phone can register with a passport and the technical team will sit to resolve the issue of the V-book module about the accuracy of duties and taxes.
The FBR also added that the difference between paying customs duties and taxes on a phone worth more than $ 500 and registering through an identity card is about Rs 9,000.
On the other hand, the FBR had alerted taxpayers about e-mails related to the list of Income Tax Defaulters.
According to a note released by the FBR, the emails related to the list of defaulters of the income tax were false and these fake emails ask to check the list of defaulters of the income tax.
According to the FBR, attempts were being made to obtain information via phishing emails, therefore, these fake emails should be completely ignored and immediately reported to the appropriate authorities.
