In answer to a question regarding sport promotion in Afghanistan, in particular cricketing, PM Imran Khan remarked that in a short time no country has achieved so much in the history of cricket, except Afghanistan.
“In 70 years, other nations have reached the status in cricket now in Afghanistan.”
He stated that this success was due mostly to the Afghan refuges’ appreciation of the game in Pakistan.
The Prime Minister invited the Afghan cricket team to visit Pakistan on his first visit to Kabul in November 2020.
