According to reports released on Wednesday, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa capital has recorded more than 213 new cases of dengue fever in the past 24 hours.
According to reports citing sources, about 126 new instances of mosquito-borne illness were recorded in Lahore on Wednesday, bringing the total number of reported cases to 623.
Around 19 people with sickness were taken to various hospitals in Lahore while health officials examined 7,130 in-door locations in the city to identify dengue larvae, according to the latest figures available.
The presence of stagnant water in various areas, which serves as a breeding ground for dengue mosquitoes, has resulted in approximately 440 dengue virus cases being detected in a week across the province, according to KP health officials. Authorities have been unable to control the disease due to this.
Meanwhile, authorities in the country’s federal capital have reported that about 31 individuals have fallen victim to dengue in the past two days, with 17 new instances reported in the last 24 hours, and that two people have succumbed to the so-called “bone-breaking fever.”
On Sunday, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar issued an order to authorities to start an anti-dengue campaign, instructing them to work with other departments to reduce the proliferation of mosquitoes in the province. Buzdar also ordered the commissioners and district commissioners to mobilize field teams for the anti-dengue campaign.
