Fans of the DC Extended Universe are hoping for a return of Henry Cavill as Superman and more specifically a sequel to Man of Steel. Dwayne Johnson just made his DCEU debut with Black Adam. He has teased Henry Cavill as the Superman of this age and pushed for the actor’s return to the franchise.
Henry Cavill’s surprising comeback has teased in Black Adam at the middle of the credits. The actor uploaded a special video on Instagram in which he discussed his Black Adam appearance and the future of his character in the DCEU.
Henry added in both the video and the accompanying post, “It’s time for me to reclaim my identity as Superman. I wanted to make that clear. What you’ve seen thus far, both in this post’s graphic and in Black Adam is just a little sample of what’s to come. There’s a lot for which to be grateful and I’ll get to that in due time.”
Reports that Cavill will reprise his role as Superman and the studio is planning a Man of Steel sequel with Christopher MacQuarrie. Jackie Earle Hayley said in a social media interaction that Zack Snyder should return to direct the film. He said, “This is a job for Snyderman.”
