The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has awarded more than 4,000 scholarships to Pakistani students since 2009, Federal Ministry of Education Parliamentary Secretary Wajiha Akram said on Friday.
When asked in his question, he answered that out of a total of 4,032, 3703 doctoral scholarships and 329 doctoral scholarships were awarded during this period.
He said institutions working in the Federal Directorate for Education (FDE) are required to teach content developed by the National Curriculum Council (NCC), which engages all experts in the field to develop textbooks based on modern trends.
He said the national anthem had become the subject of the morning meeting held the previous day at the educational institution under the auspices of the FDE.
However, the meeting was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Responding to other questions, he said, the ministry had taken a number of initiatives to minimize education losses due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
“A post-COVID-19 tele-school initiative has been launched to provide education to students locked in their homes due to the closure of educational institutions,” said Wajiha Akram.
