HBO to pay ‘Westworld’ core cast for cancelled season 5

According to Deadline, although HBO has unexpectedly decided to cancel Westworld, the show’s main ensemble will be compensated for the fifth season.

According to the source, the principal cast members already have contracts for the next fifth season.

The report contends that the action is not strange in any way. As a result of the fact that networks often secure a cast through this approach before making a renewal choice, particularly in situations involving bigwigs who would be difficult to hunt out without contracts, this is an important step.

The core cast of Westworld includes recognisable actors such as Evan Rachel Wood, Thandiwe Newton, Jeffrey Wright, Ed Harris, and Aaron Paul.

According to the report, the compensation for Season 5 are likely to be in the area of $15 million. Because the show’s budget for the third season totaled $100 million, or around $10 million an episode, beginning with the fifth season, it would cost HBO more than $80 million.

According to many sources, the decision to end Westworld was made by the studio since the show’s ratings had been steadily declining over time.
