Haiqa Hassan represented Sindh at the 27th National Junior Table Tennis Championships and was able to collect gold medals and trophies for women under the age of 15, which contributed to an increase in the number of medals and awards.
The tournament, organized by the Pakistan Table Tennis Association, ends on December 3 in Peshawar.
A total of nine teams from various regions and organizations took part in the competition, including Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Balochistan, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, Vapda and soldiers. Sind won the women’s competition and won four gold, three silver and two bronze medals.
13 year old Hayka Hassan is excited to win races and is looking forward to the next challenge.
Haiqa told the Express Tribune, “I hope to represent Pakistan one day,” and Haiqa has won many cross-school events in the past. He is looking for sponsors to support young talent and raise the profile of the game in Pakistan.
Haiqa also won the Karachi inter-school table tennis championship 2020 in the under 14 category. As many as two hundred boys and girls took part in this tournament in the individual classes up to 12 and 14.
