Karachi’s long-awaited Green Line BRT launched today, According to Geo News. The route connecting Surjani Town and Numaish Chowrangi will now be modernised.
Citizens began using the service on December 25, 2021, after Prime Minister Imran Khan launched the idea.
The trial bus service was four hours per day, but will soon be 15 hours. One-way tickets cost Rs55 to Rs15. New bus riders indicated it beats other public transit options.
One commuter said the buses are clean and the staff is friendly. Another commuter agreed that the service should have been available sooner, but it is now.
Premier Asad Umar said Monday morning that the Green Line bus service would begin commercial operations.
The minister tweeted that the commercial bus service started “exactly” on time. The 22 stations and 80 buses will now operate from 7am to 10pm.
Buses stop at Surjani, Abdullah Chowk, Do Minute Chowrangi, Power House, Nagan Chowrangi, Jumma Bazar, Haideri, Board Office, Nazimabad Number One, Sanitary Market, and Numaish.
