On Saturday, the federal government increased the price of petrol by Rs3 per liter.
Fuel prices were raised by Rs3.01 per liter according to a notification released by the Finance Ministry. The price of high-speed diesel was raised by Rs3 per liter, and the price of light diesel was raised by Rs3.33, as announced by the Finance Ministry.
Following the rise, the new price of petrol is established at Rs147.83 per liter and the new price of HSD is fixed at Rs144.62 per liter. The price of light diesel oil increased from Rs111.06 to Rs114.54, and the price of kerosene oil increased from Rs113.48 to Rs116.48.
The new prices will be in force starting at midnight on Saturday, January 16, and will be in effect for the next 15 days.
According to the sources, the increase in the price of petroleum products has been calculated in light of the global increase in oil prices.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) suggested an Rs5.15 per liter rise in the price of petrol, as well as an Rs5.65 per liter increase in the price of high-speed diesel (HSD). An increase in the price of light-speed diesel by Rs4 per liter had been recommended previously (LSD).
In a measure that took effect on 31 December, the federal government raised the price of petrol, diesel, and other items by up to Rs 4.15 a liter.
