Govt has undertaken to preserve media employees’ rights: Fawad Chaudhry

Information and Broadcasting Minister Fawad Chaudhry said the government of Pakistan, Tehrik-e-Insaaf, is committed to protecting the rights of media workers and will not compromise on this matter.

He spoke to the media after meeting with representatives of the editors of the Pakistani Council newspaper in Lahore.

Chaudhry Fawad Hussain firmly rejected the news published by some media that the government was considering regulations to limit media votes.

The Information Minister said the media law would not be introduced without consulting political parties and interest groups, including the journalistic body and the editor of the Pakistan Council newspaper.

Speaking to the CPNE representative, Fawad Chaudhry said there is a need to change the existing framework for the media industry and create new media regulations to improve its performance.
