Government may convene the National Assembly on March 25

If the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan is not tabled in the National Assembly on Monday, the government led by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is likely to call a National Assembly session on March 25.

The unified opposition had threatened to stage a sit-in and stop the OIC meeting if the no-confidence vote was not tabled in the National Assembly on Monday.

The ministers angrily opposed Bilawal’s statement, and Sheikh Rashid dared Bilawal to stop the conference if he had the fortitude.

Following opposition media discussion, the government may call a National Assembly sitting on March 25 instead of March 21. OIC meeting means Foreign Office is in charge of Assembly Secretariat.

Parliamentary sources say a meeting must be called within 14 days.

The Prime Minister also met with the political committee yesterday to discuss the National Assembly session.

On Sunday, PM Imran Khan reconvened the political committee. PTI senior leadership will attend the meeting in Bani Gala to discuss interactions with allies and enraged members.
