Even though Samsung makes fun of Apple all the time, it sure does copy its designs and features (One UI 5). Apple’s iOS 16 just did add the ability to customise the lock screen a month ago, but Android users are already able to do this for a while. Samsung One UI 5 gives users even more ways to customise their lock screen.
Galaxy phones all over the world are getting the latest version of Samsung’s Android skin. As usual, it’s starting with the newest and best smartphones, but it should soon reach cheaper models and older devices. In some places, the over-the-air update for the Galaxy S22 (Exynos version) has begun to roll out.
Samsung has plans to give the update to all Galaxy devices that can use it. This includes those that are currently in the beta programme, where any bugs sometimes do fix.
What’s new?
The company has also did release a video that shows how One UI 5 works and talks about all of the cool new features.
With One UI 5, a user’s lock screen is more relevant than ever before. Your lock screen wallpaper carousel can show pictures from your phone’s gallery or even a movie. The time and date will change to match the colours of your background. The smartphone lets you choose colours and also styles by hand or automatically.
Stackable widgets, which let you swipe from one widget to the next on the same tile, are an example of a more useful feature. Galaxy Watches will offer more ways to make them your own, and also the dashboards for security and privacy will be combined. Bixby lets you make better phone calls because it can convert both spoken and written words.
