‘Funny Boy’ of Ali Kazmi eligible for Best Picture Award

Pakistani actor Ali Kazmi took the lead after he known that his film “Funny Boy” is one of 366 films that qualified for Best Picture at the 93rd Academy Awards.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Kazmi’s film is one of 366 feature films to awarded the Best Oscar this year.

The Academy will share five to ten best photographers. After that, voting began on March 5 and lasted until March 10. The final nominations list will announce on March 15, 2021.

To celebrate the news, Actor of “Baaji” opened Instagram to share screenshots from the list. In his caption, he shows how he built lists that include people like list a Matthew McConaughey.

“What an honor and a wonderful list! My name is right above Matthew McConaughey, very good, good, good – my work is done. Our film is available on Netflix and CBC Gem!”

Ali Kazmi also added, “The cute family kid is what a journey! An eternal thank you for the incredible creative power, super staff and crew behind it, and thanks to the academy for the acknowledgment! Good luck to everyone!” he shared.

Deadline previously reported that director Deepa Mehta was included in the Oscar category for foreign films but was rejected on the grounds that it contained abundant English dialogue.

According to representatives from Telefilm, the general participation category was named the best film.
