China and Pakistan invite foreign investors to join CPEC.
China welcomed the participation of third parties in the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), said the Chinese ambassador to Pakistan, Nong Rong, saying that this would further strengthen the mega project.
In the CPEC conference on industrial cooperation organized by the Federal Board of Investment Council (BoI) on Thursday, the ambassador also invited investors from around the world to invest in the Special Economic Zones (SEZs) established under CPEC.
“The Chinese embassy wishes to work closely with the BOI and any third party to promote the development of CPEC,” he also added.
Moreover, Nong Rong said in Rashakai SEZ, Pakistan and China have worked together to ensure security, visa facilitation, and other infrastructure facilities.
Addressing the participants, President BOI Atif Bukhari said that the second phase of CPEC had also just begun and that the federal BOI would continue to lead the promotion of investments, facilitation, and industrial cooperation.
Bukhari urged the business community not only from China but also from other countries to come and invest in Pakistan’s economic sectors.
Furthermore, He said the government had already launched favorable policies, such as electric vehicle policy, mobile manufacturing, construction sector policies, single-company Special Economic Zone, Regulations 2020 and SEZ Zone Business Administration and Regulatory Sale / Lease / Subletting Installment 2021, increase investment in Pakistan.
He also reported that currently, of the nine CPEC SEZs, two were at an advanced stage of development, including Rashakai SEZ in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Allama Iqbal Industrial City in Faisalabad, Punjab.
