For the first time in history, the Federal Cabinet has adopted a cybersecurity policy

Fawad Chaudhry, Minister for Information and Radio Broadcasting, stated that the Federal Cabinet adopted the first ever cyber security strategy for improving national protection and responding to the oncoming risk of worldwide cyber warfare.

After a cabinet meeting led by Prime Minister Imran Khan, he said that the world was moving quickly into cyber warfare, and that the government established a comprehensive policy on cyber security and the electronic data of citizens, which was essential for protecting cyber security regimes.

The Minister said talks on election reform by the Government with the opposition parties were ongoing. No impasse had been seen and the process was to begin shortly after the return of President Asad Qaiser of Azerbaijan from the National Assembly, who attended a trilateral meeting of the speakers of Azerbaijan, Pakistan and Turkey together with a parliamentary delegation.

The Minister further noted that the cabinet approved the Advertising Policy 2021, which includes contemplated the publication of advertising to digital media. In response to another query, a professional group of bureaucrats decided to spread advertising transparently to digital media.
