FM Qureshi says Imran Khan would not sell off Kashmir

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said Prime Minister Imran Khan would not sell Kashmir because he is a true Kashmiri supporter and strife is an important pillar of Pakistan’s foreign policy.

“The Kashmir dispute must be resolved in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions,” Qureshi told Kashmiri leaders when speaking about serious human rights violations in the valley.

The Permanent Representative of the United Nations, Munir Akram, was also present.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said Pakistan had serious doubts about human rights abuses in Indian Kashmir. He reiterated his country’s determination to continue providing moral, political, and diplomatic support to the unarmed Kashmiri people.

Expressing the government’s unwavering commitment to the Kashmir cause, Qureshi said Prime Minister Imran Khan was not a mercenary who sold Kashmir.

“We are not businessmen and we will never accept an agreement on Kashmir,” he said.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi compared the situation in Kashmir to the current situation in the Palestinian wing. “There are similarities between the situation in Palestine and Kashmir,” he said in a speech at a ceremony by Pakistanis abroad.
