Farrukh Habib, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting stated in a statement that the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) collected a record amount of tax Rs 2,920 billion in the second quarter of the FY21-22, representing a 32 percent increase over the previous quarter. He further stated that the highest level of economic activity in the country was reflected in the record tax collection.
In a tweet on Saturday, he stated that the tax that FBR collected was Rs 287 billion higher than the tax objective of Rs 2,633 billion, which was exceeded.
According to minister Farrukh Habib, 2204 billion rupees in taxes were collected during the same period last year, and Rs 600 billion in taxes were collected in the month of December 2021 alone.

Habib stated that the PTI government has made tremendous attempts to reduce the economic consequences of the Covid-19 outbreak to the greatest extent possible.
During a ceremony in Lahore on Saturday, he claimed that the government had put up a variety of initiatives aimed at improving people’s livelihoods and living standards.
Habib believes that the people of Pakistan voted for Prime Minister Imran Khan because they believe and support his vision to bring about true change and put the country on the path to progress and prosperity.
