On Tuesday, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry claimed that the Vice-President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Maryam Nawaz, is behind the fake and doctored Saqib Nisar recording that has recently surfaced on social media.
During a press conference following a cabinet meeting, the information minister stated that the purpose of the videos is to put pressure on the judiciary.
“It’s not the first time they’ve released such audios,” he said, referring to rumored audio of former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar.
Chaudhry expressed optimism that the judiciary would reject the pressure and bring the case to a logical conclusion.

“Maryam has a team that creates fake videos and tapes and then leaks them.” Perhaps she is also responsible for the videos of her party members. No political party in Pakistan’s history has ever engaged in such derogatory behavior. “We strongly condemn this action,” he added.
The information minister stated that the government will follow any direction issued by the court in this case in letter and spirit.
