Fawad Alam dedicated his Century as a gift for his parents’ wedding anniversary.
Intermediate band veteran Fawad Alam caught the eye in the first friendly match between Pakistan and South Africa at Karachi National Stadium.
Fawad was named the man of the game for the great century in the first pass and saved the team from a precarious position. Fawad scored 109 in the first half and also registered a winning streak, while Pakistan was chasing 88 goals with 7 goals in hand.
Fawad dedicated his brilliant innings and Pakistan victory to his parents. Fawad said it was a gift for his parents’ wedding anniversary.
Fawad announced that he could not arrange gifts for his parents at their birthday on December 25th. His father said the best gift he could give them was to do well against South Africa and celebrate a century.
Fawad has been in good form recently, scoring a century goal against New Zealand last month in New Zealand and following him in this home game for a century.
Fahim Ashraf and Azhar Ali scored half-century goals in the first half as Pakistan took the lead in the 150th. Nauman Ali took five goals and Yashir Shah grabbed four sacks in the third inning to limit South Africa to 87. Pakistan chased the target with 7 goals as Foud hit the winning mark.
