Expected Ramadan moon sighting April 2, PMD predicts

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), there is a high possibility that the Ramadan moon will be visible on April 2, 2022.

According to a statement released by the meteorological service, “the new moon of Ramadan, 1443 AH, will be born on [the] crossing conjunction point at 11-24 PST on 01-04-2022,” according to the release.

Following astronomical criteria, the new moon of Ramadan, 1443 AH, will be visible on the evening of [April 2], i.e. on the 29th of Shaban, 1443 AH, on the evening of [April 2] i.e. on the 29th of Shaban, 1443 AH, according to an announcement published by the government.

As of April 2, the PMD reported that, based on historical climate data, the weather in most parts of the country is forecast to be fair to partially overcast throughout the evening hours of April 2.

If the holy month begins on the third or second of May, as anticipated by the PMD, Eidul Fitr will be observed on either May 3 or May 2, according to the Islamic calendar.
