Primary and Secondary Education Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shahram Khan Tarakai said on Wednesday that matrix and inter-majority examinations would start in the province on July 12.
The minister said the province took the decision after the Intergovernmental Education Ministers Conference (IPEMC), which was held today under the leadership of Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood.
The minister said the exams for grades 9 and 11 would begin in the second stage, after the exams in the matric class and between the conclusions.
The same decisions made at IPEMC apply to provinces, as this year the matrix and ninth graders will be assessed on electives and mathematics, while grades 11 and 12 will only take electives.
There will be no practical exams this year and grades will be covered by election tests, the education minister said.
“Classes 9 and 10 will begin test preparation tomorrow,” he added.
