Eight ‘terrorists’ nabbed in Punjab for plotting attacks

In an intelligence-based operation in Punjab, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) apprehended eight suspected terrorists who were linked with an illegal organization.

Several suspected terrorists were detained in the latest operation, according to a CTD spokeswoman, with four of them being apprehended in the provincial capital of Lahore as they were preparing attacks on law enforcement officers, according to the statement.

Apart from that, CTD apprehended them and recovered a large quantity of explosives, ammunition, and firearms from their possession. An FIR has been filed at the CTD police station, and the guys have been sent to an undisclosed location by the investigators investigating the incident.

According to the statement, the interrogation is underway in order to locate terrorist hideouts throughout the province.

On Tuesday, four Al-Qaeda militants were apprehended on Lahore’s Mohlanwal Road and taken into custody. It was reported that the team received information from a source that members of the banned outfit were present near Green Forts-II, Mohlanwal Road, Lahore, according to reports that cited officials.

They were reportedly plotting strikes on the law enforcement agencies in Lahore, according to the report. They were also found to have explosives, a safety fuse, and non-electric detonators in their possession.
