Edris Elba looks unsure in ‘Luther’ first look

Netflix’s Luther spin-off has finished production. The Netflix Original co-production with BBC Films is directed by Jamie Payne and written by Neil Cross. The movie will continue the BBC One series, which aired until 2019.

In two new pictures from Netflix, Elba’s character is seen in a train tunnel and a snowy area.
Elba told Empire that his character will leave London’s backyard. We had the time and scale to peel the onion here.

It provides Neil [Cross] more Luther-land to play with in terms of where Luther may go, how he goes, and the terrain. “We go outside of London,” Elba said. “Wow. “We’re beginning a new phase of Luther’s life.”
The actor also said that, despite having a bigger budget, the movie will stay true to the series.

“When moving from TV to film, it’s bad to spend a lot of money and change the show’s characteristics,”

“I wanted to make sure we didn’t distort Lutheranism with a higher budget.” We increase activity and stakes. Man-under-bed moment? It’s cheap. These moments remain.

The film is anticipated to be released in 2023.
