During the lockdown in Karachi, the wholesale bazaar Jodia Bazaar is open. Abdul Rauf Ibrahem, chairman of the wholesale foods association, stated that in Karachi and across the nation there will be no scarcity of supplies and supply will continue.
He further stated that the wholesale market of Liaquatabad and Water Pump was not stopped.
He welcomed the decision of the Sindh Government to keep the wholesale markets open. “Their children will die if we don’t pay attention to the daily wagers,” he continued.
Until Sunday 8 August, the Sindh government has partially locked down the province. The surge in the Covid-19 instances resulted in the decision being made.
