Mehdi Kazmi, the father of Dua Zahra, has once again filed a petition with the Sindh High Court, seeking the recovery of his daughter. Dua Zahra had been reported missing from her Karachi residence in April, but it was later discovered that she had married Zaheer Ahmed in Lahore. Mehdi Kazmi is seeking the recovery of his daughter.
The argument has prompted the court to consider taking action against Zaheer if the term “rape” is established by the results of medical examinations. New medical tests were carried out in order to ascertain Zahra’s age, and the results indicated that the girl was between the ages of 15 and 16 years old. Mehdi’s argument this time is predicated on these findings.
Kazmi asserted that Zaheer kidnapped Zahra when she was exactly 13 years, 11 months, and 19 days old, and he possesses all of the documentation to prove it, including her National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) birth certificate, educational certificates, and passport.
He asserted that Zaheer had brought Zahra to Punjab in order to marry her and had stated that she was 18 years old in the marriage contract so that it could be legally recognized.
Dua Zahra father further stated in his petition that he had previously approached the SHC and requested her recovery in a petition that was filed on May 7, 2022; as a result of this petition, the police produced the pair on June 6.
According to the plea, “the SHC authorized Zahra to go with whoever she wants to on the basis of the first round of bone ossification tests that claimed she was 17 years old.” This information was based on the findings of the first set of tests.

“However, the findings of recent medical tests have proved that Zahra is younger than 16 years old,” it continued. “This was determined based on the reports of recent medical testing.”
Kazmi filed a petition with the court requesting that an order be issued to reclaim Zahra from the “illegal custody” of Zaheer and return her to her parents.
A number of people, including the Sindh home department, the Sindh inspector general of police, the Alfalah SHO, and Zaheer, have been nominated as respondents in the petition.
