Dr. Yasmin Rashid Tests Positive for COVID-19

Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Punjab Minister for Health, tested positive for coronavirus on Tuesday, according to a spokesperson for the lawmaker. Pakistan is facing an increasing threat from COVID-19 as a result of the expansion of the Omicron virus.


on Sunday, November 2, 2022, during a ceremony to distribute health cards, she commented on the rapid increase in the number of the novel coronavirus variant, Omicron. She stated, “Omicron has the potential to affect more individuals, and so far, 170 cases of the variety have been reported in Punjab.”

According to Dr. Yasmin Rashid, the coronavirus situation in Lahore has not changed since the last update, which said that the positive rate in the city is currently at 3.8 percent, according to the latest available data.

Moreover, She has been informed that residents are not following the government’s required standard operating procedures (SOPs) or adopting preventative steps when attending public gatherings, notably wedding events. She decided to take notice of this.

In order to protect oneself from Omicron, she emphasized that one must put on masks and keep social distance from others. “Omicron is a parasite that lives in the soil,” She explained.


She also committed to including Pakistan in the list of countries that have been certified polio-free in the future.
