Faisal Farooqui tweeted on Kumar’s official Twitter on Wednesday: “I announce with sad sorrow and deep grief the loss of the beloved Dilip Saab, only a few minutes ago.
Veteran star Saira Banu, the former Bollywood actress, is surviving his 76-year-old wife.
In some Indian cinemas, Kumar has performed in the best-known films, among them Mughal-e-Azam, Devdas, Naya Daur (New Age).
