David Beckham attends World Cup in Qatar despite controversy

David Beckham attended England’s World Cup opener despite an ambassadorship row. The former English footballer was in excellent spirits as he watched England beat Iran 6-2 in Doha.

Beckham, 48, wore a suit and waved to fans as he claimed a VIP seat. Backham arrived first, but sports agent Dave Gardner soon joined him. He chatted with Qatari authorities and greeted fans.

David attended the opening ceremony and Qatar vs. Ecuador on Sunday.

The Manchester United player is Qatar’s official representative at the World Cup, where human rights issues have been a problem.

Beckham was asked to leave Qatar. The comedian Joe Lycett also pushed him to leave Qatar.
