Covid Case will rise again: Dr. Faisal Sultan

If we don’t take proper precautions now, Covid might resurface, according to Saturday Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Health Dr. Faisal Sultan, who also admitted that the government is prepared for yet another smart shutdown to stop it from spreading.

SAPM Health said that when the number of infections in Punjab increases, the cumulative score increases proportionately. He feared that the new strains of the virus had already penetrated across the country.

When we don’t take proper care of the virus, there will be more variants, as it constantly mutates, he said.

We’re strategizing for another smart block last week, he said. For now, we want to control the pandemic through intelligent blocking, noted Dr. Faisal.

Some segments in several sectors are already being closed to reduce the activity of containing spread, the SAPM.

It can be noted that today, the local administration has imposed the smart blockade in more locations in Karachi after the increase in COVID-19 cases.

The smart lockdown was enforced on more UCs in the Korangi region of the city after limits on public mobility were placed in five union councils (UCs).

A notice has been issued by the local administration regarding smart blocking in the COVID-19 hotspot areas, including different locations in the Gulzar Colony UC-6, one in the Shah Faisal Colony, UC-6 of the Rafah-e-Aam Society, UC-1 in sub-division of Model Colony, and others.
