Miftah Ismail, Pakistan’s Minister for Finance and Revenue, stated that it is expected that the price of ghee and cooking oil will decrease by Rs100 to Rs150 per kilogram in the country.
Following the recent drop in the price of oil on the international market, Miftah Ismail stated, while speaking at a news conference in Islamabad, that the price of ghee and cooking oil has leveled off at $1,000 per tonne.
According to Miftah Ismail, it is expected that prices will go down in Pakistan over the course of the next several days. The minister predicted that costs for petroleum items will go down as well given that these products are also seeing price drops on the worldwide market.
The minister stated that we have been successful in putting the country back on the path to achieving economic stability.
He stated that we will maintain the Langarkhana and Kamyab Jawaan Programs, and we will reorganize them such that the greatest number of people who are eligible can benefit from them.
Earlier, Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif came to the decision that during the fiscal year 2022–2023, the less fortunate members of society would receive reduced prices on wheat, ghee, cooking oil, pulses, rice, and sugar. This decision was made in principle.
Shehbaz Sharif, the current Prime Minister of Pakistan, stated while presiding over a high-level meeting on utility stores in Islamabad, that the less fortunate members of society are in urgent need of relief at this time, and that the government will take all necessary steps in this regard.
