General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, stated on Tuesday that Pakistan wants to improve long-term multi-domain relations with Sri Lanka.
During his meeting with Sri Lankan Navy Commander Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne, General Bajwa reaffirmed the necessity for all regional countries to work together for long-term peace and security.
The meeting was held in Rawalpindi at GHQ. The ISPR said the meeting covered issues of mutual interest, regional security, and the present Afghan situation.
“Pakistan wishes to strengthen long-term multi-domain relations with Sri Lanka,” the COAS stated.
The Sri Lankan commander praised the country’s armed forces’ professionalism and pledged to continue military cooperation in defence, training, and counter-terrorism.
Vice Admiral Ulugetenne praised Pakistan’s contribution in the Afghan issue, especially its border management operations, and role in regional stability.
