Chinese company looking to invest in Pakistan’s IT sector: Asim Saleem Bajwa

Lieutenant General Asim Salim Bajwa, Chairman of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), visited the Federal Minister for Information and Telecommunications Syed Amin Ul Hake, Wednesday.

The Federal Minister for Information Technology, Syed Amin Ul Haque, welcomed the chair of the CPEC committee to his cabinet and discussed issues related to the CPEC project. Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunications Shoaib Ahmad Siddique was also present.

Asim Salim Bajwa said that Chinese companies are showing great interest in IT and optical projects. He also said the role of the Information Technology Department is very important in various CPEC projects. He also praised the creation of an IT park in Gilgit Baltistan (UK).


The Federal Minister for Information Technology, Syed Amin Ul Haque, said that the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications will cooperate fully with the CPEC agency on all relevant CPEC projects. The ministry will support all steps that have been taken for the prosperity of the country.

He said there were great opportunities for foreign investment in Pakistan’s fast growing IT industry.

Syed Amin Ul Hake said revolutionary steps in the IT and telecommunications sectors such as CPEC would be effective in boosting the country’s economy. He said the IT industry in Pakistan is growing rapidly and creating jobs.

Previously, the IT secretary briefed the CPEC chairman about the IT ministry’s projects. The IT secretary had previously notified the CPEC chair about the IT ministry project.
