China to Bring Pakistan High-Speed Trains

Pakistan is closer than ever to getting its own high-speed trains because of China. A recent CCTV report said that the country plans to send Pakistan technology for 160 km/h high-speed trains.

The first train cars are now full, and on November 3, they will start to go to their destinations. In this batch, there are 46 of these.

The report says that Pakistan will get 184 more carriages to place together. Also, this is the first time China has sold the US this kind of technology.

Because we still use trains which is did install decades ago, this is a big step forward for Pakistan’s rail industry. The highest speed of trains in Pakistan is currently around 100 km/h, so an increase to 160 km/h. While not a huge improvement, is still welcome due to the state of our railway system.

We don’t know much about these Chinese trains yet, but we’ll let you know as soon as we learn more.

Wednesday, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif went to Beijing. Where Chinese President Xi Jinping promised to help with the country’s financial crisis.

The National Bank of Pakistan and the People’s Bank of China recently did sign a memorandum of cooperation to make it easier for business and financial activities to occur between the two countries. It did find out during talks between the People’s Bank of China and the State Bank of Pakistan about building a clearing system for the Chinese Yuan.

Xi also said that the two countries should work together to improve the environment for the Mainline-1 (ML-1) railway project and the Karachi Circular Railway project. China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) includes these improvements to Pakistan’s infrastructure. Which will make it easier to travel by land, sea, and air.
