According to the Report China orders the Xiaomi to delete the new features from its flagship smartphones called Mi Mix 4 due to some security issues. Xiaomi recently released its flagship Mi Mix 4 in China. The anti-theft feature is most talked from one of them. This feature allows users to locate their phone even if the SIM card is removed. According to a report by the South China Morning Post, the Chinese government ordered Xiaomi to remove the feature.
The report says that Xiaomi took Weibo to reveal the feature will be removed. According to the report, the function does not comply with the relevant regulations and has not received approval from Chinese regulators. China has tough laws for virtual SIM technology or eSIM. Xiaomi did not release any official statement yet on this matter.
However, earlier this week, Lei Jun, the founder of Xiaomi, spoke about the functionality that was removed when the Mi Mix 4 launched. He said that “Xiaomi as a company always pays attention to the protection of consumer privacy.”
