The Next Minister for Water Resources was nominated Chaudhry Moonis Elahi, the PML-Q leader.
The PTI-led government’s promise to its allies, including the PML-Q, to be granted command of a cabinet ministry was taken as part of a decision.
While a notice (this will be expected shortly) has not yet been issued, the sources stated that the decision was approved by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The sources further said that discussions are in progress to grant MQM and GDA each a federal ministry as promised.
Moonis Elahi has been elected an NA-69 Gujrat-II MNA. Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, the Punjab Assembly’s son.
PTI Minister Faisal Vawda previously held the responsibility for the Ministry of Water Resources.
In March, he renounced his vote in the Senate elections from the National Assembly.
