Charlie Watts, drummer for the Rolling Stones, has died at the age of 80

Charlie Watts, The Rolling Stones’s unshakable drummer, died. He died at a London hospital surrounded by family, according to a reporter.

A statement sent to the PA Media news agency by its London publisher Bernard Doherty says: “We announce the loss of our dear Charlie Watts with tremendous grief.

Watts was the guy to hang back when most rock bands took their hints from the drummer. In 2012, he told NPR that he must sit in the early days of the live performance near the amplifier of guitarist Keith Richards. “And the amplifiers were not particularly large. So I needed to know where the adjustments came from with the audience yelling, “Watts said.

It has been revealed earlier this month that Watts is due to miss the next US tour of the band, as it recovers from an unidentified medical operation.

In his social media postings, the image picked by Sir Mick has no title. It showcases the performances of Watts in the Casino in Herisau, Switzerland in January 2010 with his own jazz ensemble The ABC and D of Boogie Woogie.

In more ways than one, Watts offered a distinct atmosphere to his companions. He prefers customised suits, whereas the others are more bohemian in appearance.

He did his best to get away from the light and to purchase a 16th century home in Sussex, utilising some of the early successes in the band. But he was a key part of the band and gave the band a permanent backdrop to rock for almost 60 years.
