In a recent interview with Jake’s Takes, Bill Skarsgård has revealed that he won’t be returning as Pennywise in the upcoming It prequel “Welcome to Derry”.

Skarsgård’s portrayal of the infamous clown in the 2017 and 2019 adaptations of Stephen King’s horror novel was widely praised by critics and audiences alike.

However, he has encouraged whoever takes on the role in the prequel to make it their own and have fun with it.

Skarsgård’s Pennywise was a standout element of the It franchise, which follows a group of kids known as the Losers Club as they battle the supernatural entity in the town of Derry.

Alongside Skarsgård, the films also starred Jaeden Lieberher as Bill Denbrough, the leader of the Losers Club who is haunted by Pennywise.

As fans eagerly await the release of “Welcome to Derry”, it remains to be seen who will take on the iconic role of Pennywise. But with Skarsgård’s blessing to make the character their own, audiences can expect a fresh take on the beloved horror villain.
