Belgian Royal Palace denies burglary

The Belgian Royal Palace has denied that Queen Paola’s French property was broken into. The rumoured location of the break-in was in France.

A recent report in the French daily Le Parisien stated that the burglary resulted in the theft of “jewelry and leather goods worth several millions of euros.”

However, the newspaper specified that there was “ambiguity over the identity” of the flat in question.

According to the palace, the Queen does not own a property of this kind in the capital of France, as reported by the Belgian news agency Belga.

“The initial article from ‘Le Parisien’ that linked the theft to an apartment belonging to the Queen is clearly wrong,” they added. “The apartment in question does not belong to the Queen.”

On the occasion of Princess Elisabeth’s birthday earlier this month, the Belgian Royal Palace presented some stunning photos of the royal, who is now 21 years old.

“Today is Elisabeth’s 21st birthday, and she has a lot to celebrate! What do you hope the next year of her life brings her?” the palace posted to social media platforms like Instagram and Twitter.
