The Pakistani Drug Regulatory Authority (DRAP) has issued a road map for private hospitals looking to receive coronavirus vaccines through pharmaceutical companies.
They must first register with the National Immunization Registration System (NIMS) before they can approve a vaccine.
Under the guidelines, the hospital must first write an application to the director-general of the provincial health department, who will inspect the health facilities first, and then send recommendations to the director-general of health in Islamabad.

Pharmaceutical companies are only permitted to sell vaccines to hospitals that are properly registered with NIMS, according to DRAP.
“A panel of experts from the Ministry of Health will prepare a checklist for the provincial director-general to examine private hospitals that provide vaccines against the coronavirus,” read the guidelines.
