Babar Azam says the bowlers deserve credit for Pakistan’s victory

The award for Pakistan’s win goes to the bowlers who narrowed down the South African batsmen to possible outcomes, said captain Babar Azam Friday after Men In Green beat Proteas in the first round of three ODI’s at Centurion.

“I pay tribute to the bowlers for exercising [South Africa] restriction,” said Azam, who received the man of the match award for his century at the match after the ceremony.

The skipper says he and Imam are trying to form a good partnership to escape from the scoreboard. Imam and Azam together formed 177-second port partnerships.

Referring to Anrich Nortje, who had the best result of his career at 51 to 51, he said bowling is a good adage – one that causes problems for the Pakistani team.
