Asad Umar urged health workers to register for the Covid vaccine

  • Frontline health workers are the government’s priority, said Asad Umar

Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar urged health workers to register for coronavirus vaccine.

The facility will take all steps to ensure the safety of health professionals. According to a statement from the head of the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC).

“Frontline healthcare workers are our priority,” said Umar.

According to the NCOC, 52,768 health workers across the country, vaccinated since vaccination began on February 2.

The NCOC found that 32,860 frontline health workers in Sind had received doses of the coronavirus vaccine. In Punjab, the number of frontline health workers are vaccinated is 15,494, while in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 1,639 health workers received the vaccinated dose.

In Gilgit-Baltistan, 1,013 healthcare workers are get vaccine. While 651 health workers in Azad Kashmir and 859 in Islamabad received the vaccine.

In Balochistan, the number of health workers vaccinated according to the NCOC is 252.

Pakistan launches a coronavirus vaccination campaign

On February 3, Pakistan launched a coronavirus vaccination initiative. Umar, who is also overseeing the national coronavirus strategy, said: “The COVID-19 vaccination movement will start today in the presence of Prime Minister Imran Khan, meanwhile it will start in the provincial capital tomorrow (February 3).”

In addition, Asad Umar urged health workers. Earlier this month, Pakistan received 0.5 million doses of Sinopharm COVID-19 from China. Which will distribute by land and air in all provinces.

Pakistan’s vaccination strategy

The Sinopharm vaccine brought to a warehouse in a central warehouse in Islamabad. Hence, once all health guidelines met, the joining entities give the same vaccine through a special relocation plan completed by the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC).

Hence, the vaccine shipped by air to Sindh, Belochistan, and England to reduce time and ensure cold storage temperature.

The entire first phase of the vaccine will be given to frontline health workers who are real heroes of Pakistan’s COVID response to combat this pandemic. And in this case save precious lives, in line with the priorities set by the NCOC and all stakeholders.

The authorities have prepared a national adult vaccine administration. And there is a vaccination process supporte by a digital mechanism.

For the implementation of the first stage of the adult vaccine. There are 189 designated health facilities in Punjab, 14 in Sindh, 280 in KP, 44 in Balochistan, 14 in ICT, 25 at AJK, and 16 in GB for the full vaccination process.

NCOC will act as a nerve center, while several major centers have established at the provincial / district level and in Tehsil. The entire process manages by a digital national immunization management system (NIMS) with minimal human intervention.
