As the rupee continues to fall in value, the US dollar has breached the Rs 163 level in the interbank market

The increase in the interbank US dollar from Pakistani rupee on Monday continues when the Rs163 threshold crosses.

The US dollar was traded in the interbank at Rs163.05 after experiencing Rs0.62 gain the first day after weekend when traded at Rs162. Details suggest that this dollar was exchanged.

Economic analysts attributed the dollar-value surge to strong demand that the greenback price in interbank markets was driven by imports and debt payments.
