As tensions between Beijing and Washington grow and Chinese towns are close, Apple is looking at other countries as possible places to make the iPhone 14. A new Bloomberg story says that the Cupertino megacorporation has its sights set on the Indian market.
The article says that Apple has been trying to increase production in India to shorten the time it takes to make new iPhones, which has usually been between six and nine months.
iPhone’s (Apple) biggest supplier, Foxconn, is said to have looked into how to get parts from China to India in preparation for making the iPhone 14. These phones reportedly come from Chennai, India.
India starts making the first iPhones, which are really ready by the end of the year. This could cause a lag in sales and shipment for the iPhone 14, which is due to launch in September.
Apple has been trying to move some iPhone production outside of China so that it doesn’t have to rely so much on the Chinese market. Apple has decided to make some iPads in India, which is the second largest market for smartphones in the world.

Smartphone makers like Samsung and also Apple have liked Vietnam as a market for a long time. However, contract manufacturers who make products for American brands are turning more. More to India and Mexico to diversify production away from China.
Nikkei Asia said last week that Apple would start making the Apple Watch and more than one MacBook in Vietnam. Ming-Chi Kuo, a well-known analyst, says that Apple will start mass production of its 14. 16-inch M2-powered MacBook Pros in the fourth quarter of 2022.
