Apple avoids patent infringement of worth $308.5 million

From time to time, companies like Apple have involved in patent infringement proceedings. The fact that Apple is a large corporation and that there are companies knowing as patent trolls, Who litigate for patent infringement in the hopes of reaching a settlement should not be a surprise to anyone.
Sometimes this process can take a long time, but in this particular case Apple achieved a quick and decisive victory. It happened after learning that there were plans to siphon more money from other companies. Apple has hit by a patent infringement lawsuit for a digital rights management technology patent. And the companies involved are seeking $308.5 million in compensation.

However, when a U.S. District Judge Rodney Gilstrap ultimately ruled that the patent could not be applied after discovering that the company holding the patent had deliberately delayed its filing. Obviously, this is because the company wants to take more copyright from other tech companies.

Apparently, the company’s patent application dates back to the 1980s, but hasn’t granted until 2010 and after. According to Gilstrap, “PMC’s conduct constitutes unjustified delay and abuse of the lawful patent system”. The judge also noted that it was the company’s policy to ensure that no patents have granted until infringement was widespread in the technology industry. And a 1991 document specifically mentioning companies such as Apple, Intel, IBM and Microsoft has summoned.
