Canadian actress Annie Murphy wears her heart on her sleeve and shares details about her mental health.
The Schitt’s Creek actress told The Zoe Report that she has suffered from depression since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“My mom said, ‘You cry hysterically 12 times a day until your teeth chatter.’ It’s not normal,” she said.
“Many people believe I’m going to sound like I’m playing myself a small violin,” she said.
“Why are you sad], oh, you’re rich and famous?” Nothing to regret. Nothing to regret. But I won’t put myself on the floor, covered in my own shock, and unable to stand. I don’t. I don’t want to see anybody,” she continued.
“Although I am so happy I don’t believe I can perform my job when I get to work,” she said, “I’ve been so enthusiastic about getting this huge share.
“I don’t cry on the floor 12 times a day. I know how to focus on other things in my life,” she said. Honestly, if a friend likes it, “I’m having a hard time,” I say, “Use drugs.” Taking medication! “You don’t have to be on drugs all the time,” she says.
