An anti-govt long march is being planned, mass resignations:Khaqan

On Sunday, the steering committee of the Pakistan Democratic Action (PDM) met and agreed to expedite the anti-government movement. However, the committee also produced proposals for a long march and resignations from assemblies.

In a virtual meeting of the PDM’s steering committee, which was presided over by PML-N senior vice president Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and attended by Senator Mir Kabir, Hafiz Hamdullah, Kashif Randhawa, and Dr. Jahanzeb Jamaldini, the steering committee made a number of important decisions.

According to reports, the gathering reviewed the PDM’s long-term strategy, which included the Long March and the submission of resignations from assembly positions.

In addition, it was determined that the time and date of the long march, as well as the resignations, would be chosen by the PDM summit rather than the committee members. Protest demonstrations will be held in all four provinces prior to the long march, it was also decided.

According to reliable sources, the steering committee’s suggestions will be given tomorrow at the PDM summit, which will be presided over by Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

Prior to that, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), met with leaders of the Jamiat e Ulema Islam (JUI-F) and the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), after the ice between them started thawing a little bit.

During their discussion in Islamabad, both leaders agreed that they would give the government a difficult time in the legislature.

As a result, some reports indicate that the PPP has agreed to rejoin the PDM and that this was also discussed during the meeting; however, Bilawal has stated that joining the PDM was not mentioned during the meeting.

According to reliable sources, Shehbaz Sharif, the head of the opposition in the National Assembly, and senior PPP leader Khursheed Shah played a significant role in breaking the ice between the PPP and the PDM.
