Actress Ameesha Patel and her business partner Krunal have been accused of fraud and cheque bounce by film producer Ajay Kumar Singh.
According to the complaint filed by Singh, Patel and Krunal took INR 2.5 crore from him to make the film Desi Magic. However, even after several years, the film has not been completed or released, and the producer has not received his money back.
Singh also alleged that Patel and Krunal threatened and intimidated him when he asked for his money back. After many delays, Patel gave him two cheques of INR 2.5 crore and 50 lakh, both of which bounced.
The court had summoned Patel and her lawyer, but they failed to appear, leading to displeasure by the court. The next hearing is scheduled for April 15.
