According to Apple all Apps Can Use The iPhone 13’s 120Hz Refresh Rate

According to a story published just a few days ago, it appears that some developers recognized that their Apple apps weren’t taking full use of the iPhone 13’s 120Hz refresh rate and decided to fix the problem. Because of this, several people suspected that Apple had disabled the feature in order to conserve battery life. However, it has now discovered that this was not the case.
As stated in a support post published on Apple website, all apps on the iPhone 13 will be able to take use of the 120Hz refresh rate. And that they will just need to opt-in in order for this to happen. This is in contrast to the iPad Pro, which does not require apps to be updated in order to take advantage of the 120Hz display. However, it is possible that this is due to the iPad Pro’s larger battery.

It also contains information on what developers can expect from the 120Hz display, which has a dynamic refresh rate. Which means that it has not always fixed at 120Hz and that this is not something that developers can force. As a result, developers should be aware of this when they are testing their applications on the display.

After further investigation, Apple has confirmed that a fault is affecting some animations. The animations that rely on Core Animation and that a remedy is on the way. Meanwhile, there is little that end users can do other than wait. And hope that the makers of their favorite apps would upgrade their applications to take advantage of higher refresh rates.
